(Elora, ON.) -On Thursday April 29th, 2010 at about 11:54am County of
Wellington OPP officers responded to a reported attempted robbery in
Elora.
Officers attended to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Geddes Street in Elora.
Investigators found that about 11:45am a man came into the store and
went to the pharmacy area. The male suspect appeared agitated and told
staff that this was a robbery and wanted the pharmacy staff to hand over
some prescription narcotics. The store staff refused to give the suspect
drugs and he fled the store. The empty handed thief fled east on
Colborne Street where he jumped into a parked small silver car. County
of Wellington OPP officers continue to investigate.
Suspect description: white male, approximately 30 to 35 years old, 5'9
to 5'10 with a thin build, 150 to 160lbs. The suspect was unshaven with
brown short hair, slightly sticking out under a baseball hat. Black
baseball hat, with 'Right here now' written on it in red, green and
yellow. He was wearing loose fitting clothes, a black fleece jacket, and
baggy gray sweat pants.
(Centre Wellington, ON.) -On Thursday April 29th, 2010 at about 2:25am
County of Wellington OPP officers investigated the driver of an auto
found on the West Garafraxa town line near Wellington Road 29,
south-east of Fergus.
When officers stopped the 1995 Mazda and spoke to the driver, they
discovered that she had been drinking. The driver was administered a
Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.
Dana May Griffiths aged 22 of Centre Wellington has been charged with
Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. Griffiths is
scheduled to appear in Guelph court on June 7th, 2010 to answer to the
charge.
