(Fergus, ON.) -On Saturday April 24th, 2010 at about 12:09am County of Wellington OPP officers responded to a reported disturbance on Queen Street East, Fergus.

Investigation revealed, a 32 year old Fergus male who was walking on Queen Street, when he over heard a group of youths voicing disparaging remarks towards him. The victim approached the group to question them as to what was said, when the group descended upon him. The victim was knocked to the ground while being punched and kicked.

The victim managed to get to his feet and left the area. The victim sustained a black eye and bruises and cuts to his face.

County of Wellington OPP have charged Brett Ronald Gibson aged 21 of Fergus and Jessie Richard Smith aged 21 of Elora in this matter. Both Gibson and Smith have been charged with Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and are scheduled to appear in Guelph court on Monday April 26th, 2010 to answer to the charge.

A third person in the group, a 16 year old Fergus female also faces Assault charges contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The teen is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on May 19th, 2010 to answer to the charge.

(Elora, ON.) -On Saturday April 24th, 2010 at about 12:52am County of Wellington OPP officers responded to a reported mischief occurring on Geddes Street in Elora.

Caller reported that he has seen a male teen walking down Geddes Street in Elora, breaking some windows along the way. The caller reported that he has blonde curly hair, wearing white long sleeved shirt and jeans; carrying a backpack. Police attended and were unable to locate the youth.

Altogether by 11am on Saturday April 24th, 2010, County of Wellington OPP had taken reports from 8 separate businesses and homes that had some damage done in this spree.
